Puzzle bowl with peruvian icons

One of the problems with handicrafts is the lack of tools in order to create more products. Therefore, artisans are forced to use low technology and even their own hands, so they waste energy, time and money. The proposal is a puzzle bowl with peruvian icons. It is composed basically by two pieces that can be put together and create different forms. Fablab would let produce and machine many engravings which might be complicated to do by hand. Each color could represent a different kind of wood (alternative wood).

flex_shut

In Peru, approximately 70% of housing is self-constructed. It is also mostly self-planned. This flexible shuttering allows the user/designer to manipulate the shape directly during the construction process. As the person moves the wood sticks (push/pull) supported in a mdf board, the elastic rubber membrane takes different shapes until it is ready to be fixed and filled with the wanted material. The sticks have dimensions printed on them (like a metric tape), so the shape could be rather completely regular or highly irregular, depending on the users needs, tastes, structural needs, …

The low-cost, self-replicable, community managed, and integrated health station

The benefits are huge, the modular architecture of the health station allows to integrate virtually to provide a more complex system in order to benefit not only of the users but also of the goverment decision takers allowing the better …
