Fab Lab Barcelona Internship Program
Our Internship Program is open! We are always looking for young talent, ready and eager to learn and collaborate with us.
Fab Lab Barcelona is a research and education center part of the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia. It supports different educational and research programs fostering innovation around digital fabrication processes and technologies.
We’re based in the 22@Barcelona district (Poblenou), the “Makers District”, an international reference of innovation and technology district, surrounded by cutting-edge companies and start-ups, universities and research & training centers. Barcelona is an urban laboratory of research and innovation in digital technologies of communication and interaction.
Profiles
We are looking for profiles on these areas:
- Digital Fabrication
- Distributed Design & Communities
- Future Learning & Education
- Materials and Textiles
- Productive Cities
- Sense Making
According to the specific profiles, we’ll evaluate your competencies, experience, and skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
- Able to organize and plan work in advance.
- Proactivity and Initiative
- Enjoy working in an international environment and connecting with young people from all over the world.
- Interest in STEAM education, technology, digital transformation, and innovation.
- If the position is technical, we would regard:
- Design experience in both 3D and 2D software
- Special interest in Digital Fabrication processes (3D printing, laser cut, CNC…) and prototyping of ideas from concept to reality
- Experience in computer science and programming languages such as Arduino or Python is a plus!
- Able to support the documentation of ideas, research, and prototypes throughout the design process.
Conditions
- Type of Contract: Internship Agreement
- Non-Remunerated practice
- Minimum 3-months, maximum 6-months
- Part-time or Full-time, depending on availability
