Co-creation for Responsible Research and Innovation: Experimenting with Design Methods and Tools

The relationship between science, technology, and society is shifting towards greater dialogue and inclusivity, making citizens key drivers of innovation. Public engagement and Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) have gained prominence, emphasizing co-design and bottom-up co-creation. The EU-funded SISCODE project, involving 17 European partners, explores these transformations through theoretical analysis and real-life experiments (RLEs). This book critically examines 10 co-creation labs tackling societal challenges, detailing their processes, policymaker involvement, and impacts. It reflects on lessons learned, organizational transformations, and broader ecosystem changes driven by collaborative innovation.
